BIBOB (Transboundary Beaver Dam Management in the Context of Climate Change) is an EU funded project exploring how beaver activity impacts water systems in the Saxony–Czech border region—an area increasingly affected by flooding, drought, and forest decline.
Beaver dams can support climate resilience by retaining water and boosting biodiversity, but they can also cause challenges like unwanted flooding. The project aims to show when and where beaver dams are beneficial in the context of climate change in the border region.
